Need Suggestions re purchasing a g35

Hey guys,

I'm looking at getting a G35 sedan. I am buying in Canada, and wanted your advice regarding a number of options I am considering. I'm looking for the best value. Feel free to throw in your 2 cents regarding differences between the 03-05' models (although I've already done a lot of reading). Here's the list - note that all are 6MTs:

YEAR KM COST
1) 2005 98000 19995
2) 2004 73621 18999
3) 2004 78000 16900
4) 2003 75000 16887
5) 2003 74610 16988

NOTE - I called the seller of option #2 who told me it has "new front brakes + front machined rotors, replaced back rotors (because they were badly rusted), and 4 new tires would come with the sale. Does this make anyone else wary? Perhaps the car sat for some time...

Re differences between years, this is how my understanding goes.
2005 models have nicer interiors, but the possible oil consumption problem scares me. The rev-up sounds nice and is enticing me toward this model, but I worry about the high km on the only '05 I am considering.
2003/04 models have crappier interiors, but there are more of them available in my price range and I can get them with quite a few less kms. Also, I have read they are torquier than the 05+ models due to wider intake runners.

FINALLY - any buying advice anyone can give me regarding inspecting the car prior to purchase would be great. Should I have it checked out by an infiniti dealership/local mechanic? Any common issues I should look out for?

An extra thanks to everyone who actually read my longwinded post to the end! I can't wait to become a true member of this board.

Do you have CarMax in Canada? They will do a complete VIN history and cleanup for you.

I have a 2003 sedan that I really am happy with. Interior is rock solid and all trim and exterior have held up nicely!

I just used Carfax - paid 29.99 for unlimited x1 month.

Looking at a 2004 - I think it's the happy medium. Such a shame I can't afford a nice 2005 'cause I love those rims that come with the aero model.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

Hey Smokey,
I'm in the same boat as you. I really like the 05 sedans, especially the X version, don't really like the black sills on the 03-04, plus the 05 seems just a bit more upscale with all it's options. I'm form london, Ontario. I look pretty much everyday on autotrader, kijiji, and craigs list. I'm pretty sure the 05's have the rev-up motor only if you're going for a 6-speed. But the lowest I see is 19999 or about for an 05 G35X. Haven't seen that price with the combo I'm looking for, black on black or silver on black with premium and smart package. Good Luck on the search.

Bought an '04 G35 sedan with about 38,000 km. Gold on beige interior. The colours suck, but the price was right (as were the km) so I had to go for it.
