is it normal to have a SNOW button on RWD?

I've been looking at a lot of car listings all over the place. Oringally i was going to get target just the X sedans but then i saw a couple of RWD sedans showing that they have a button similiar to the SNOW button.

THis is on the 03-04 models, the button is placed exactly in the same spot as the SNOW button. it looks like heated seats but its above the shifter in the right upper corner, exactly where the button in on the X sedans. Now this is the 2nd car i saw with it... i thought it was a typo at first. But 2nd one made me question it.

It probably initiates a slower throttle response so you don't get tail happy on the snow. That's what it does on my Highlander

If you are looking at cars.com or something similar it is probably a picture of a G35x - the snow button makes front and rear tires drive at 50% each until a certain speed. I believe this is correct, I've only had my G35x for a couple of months, and it's what I've read.

the snow mode button on the G35x reduces throttle sensitivity and locks the torque split at 50:50.

Snow mode does not start the car off in 2nd gear like some. The drive by wire system uses two pedal sensors and a computer. It can adjust the actual throttle output based on a different map.

I do not believe that the RWD cars have snow mode.

i understand what the SNOW button's purpose is...

cars.com and some ebay auctions show a couple of RWD g35's with a SNOW BUTTON. just wondering if their were such things or are they just sharing pictures with a g35x.

the 5EAT in the RWD g35's sedans should be a open diff, so i'm doubting that it has a SNOW button to limit wheel spin. But it can thru a diffrent system because a lot of cars have traction control, which can work similiar to SNOW button. each company has their own wording and theory on what something means.. Hence my question.

They're probably just reusing pics. 03 and 04 sedans non-x do not have this button or option

OP, I'm not sure if it was available on some RWD G35 sedans, but my RWD FX35 has a Snow button. Just because an Infiniti has a Snow button does not mean its AWD.
