AthensG is a big advocate of this turbo system.

this thread should answer probably 99% of the questions.
Personally, I'd like to be able to mount the filter inside the rear bumber cover if at all possible.

tailpipe turbo
man that's pretty cool
what decisions made you go this route ? do you daily drive your G ?
I saw this done on a LT1 Camaro long ago and everyone talked smack about it. I saw it done last weekend on a older Lightning pick up on Spike TV and that's the last thing I thought I would see when I clicked on this thread. I can't wait to see the dyno graph to see what this thing can do. I'm sure you'll be happy with some added power. Good luck with it all.

But best of luck and hope it rocks.
IMHO, I "think" one way these STS units get around the lag is to use a slightly smaller sized turbo. Less lag but less ultimate power potential. But then again many aren't in the market for that type of upgrade anyway.

I drove in my friends 350z with a sts turbo and loved the sound and power so I bought one haha. He is beating twin turbo cars and he has a single turbo its great!

yeah I think the whole set up is cool and I wonder if one could be made cheaply at home but the air intake seems like such a bad location. I had a Mustang before that had a Paxton blower and the air filter was located in the front fenderwell and it was a PITA even covered in there. Of course it was pushing 22 PSI alot more than this tail pipe turbo will but mine sucked hard enough to cave in the air filter once. Would hitting a puddle hurt the turbo by pulling in water ? or cold water splashing up on it ? I'd do some sort of sheilding like DaveB was saying to protect it all.
I guess if you don't drive the car in the rain ever it should be OK though. Me though I'd definately consider putting the filter in the trunk and vent the trunk somehow so the turbo doesn't suck your eyeballs out of your head or bog the motor down by starving the turbo of air.
