High Gas consumption?

Hi,

I am new to this forum; I am going to buy a 05 G35x auto. Since the gas price is so high; I like to know if the Gas consumption if it is High or not.

I found the Gas consumption on Nissan Murano SE AWD is low than the G35X from some auto web site. How ture it is?

After I search I founf the 05/06 G35x has oil consumption engine. Are they all have it? Some post said ONLY rev-up engine has it some post said reg. engine has it anyone carify it???

I like the G but I also found the Murano is good too. It just not as power as G.
It drive like a Sedan.

G is more fun to drive.

Looking forward to the answers and comment

In my mix of driving my 04 for over 47000 miles, I've averaged 21 mpg. About 16-17 in town, 23-25 on the highway.

Generally 75-76 on the highway.

If you drive it hard, you will get less.

I have an '04 G35x and so far... it's been averaging about 14 mpg... plus or minus a couple tenths.

14 mpg is petty bad for sedan. They said the gas price will break the record in the summer time.

It just depends on how you drive it, 14 seems to be definitely on the low side. I get around 16-20mpg for the tank with a mix of moderate city/highway driving.

I have the 05X sedan, and love it!! It's like my 6th car ever and by far my favorite. Mpg depends on your driving style, but I get about 16-17mpg with mods I have under the hood (spacer, z-tube, exhaust, etc..).

^^ Exactly, I love to put my size 15s to use on my X lol. Especially with some timberlands on LOL...J/K. I love to speed, carefully, and love the sound of my car (sometimes even turn off music), hence the high consumption.

Yea, mine is just bad at 14 mpg. I did a 60k mile complete tune up on this car at 56,900 miles (one week ago)... I couldn't wait anymore with such horrible mpg. I think it has to do with me driving the car local only, I hardly ever take the highway. My job is like 4 mi away from home and I only fill up like once every two weeks... so that's the only plus.

My drive to work is only 6 miles and I drive my car pretty hard but I still avarage ~17mpg with a TT and tons of mods.

21 mpg all day long, no better no worse. Mostly rural/ highway driving. As for the comparison,I think the only upside of the Murano is ground clearance in snow, otherwise I wiould buy the G all day, it is a nice ride and very comfortable. Up to 59K now owned her 16 months!

I think so, I would assume it should have 1mpg less than non AWD

I am getting 17-19 mpg for '06X (50/50 hwy/city mix)

i usually get ~ 21-22 mpg in city, fueling up before the gas light comes on after about 500kms (315mi). i get ~26-28 on the highway. i did see 30+ on a roadtrip last summer (highway driving only).
around town i drive fairly conservatively, skip shifts when possible (i'm 6mt)...in other words, i'd say 14mpg is not good. unless you really bag your car.
