Trading My Z for G35 Sedan: ?'s
The title pretty much sums it up. I really like the Z, but there were a few issues, and I was tired of dealing with Nissan's crappy service. I had a very early Z (vin around 800), and after a year and a half I decided I wanted something nicer as my only car (I had a pretty nice Maxima as my second car when I bought the Z). The G is a 04 6MT sedan, sport and premium package, with the full body aero kit.
Anyway, I plan to install the Stoptech big brake kit and Nismo S-tune suspension from my Z. I have brought this up before, but I am looking for as many opinions as possible.
The S-tunes drop the Z by a little under 3/4" which from what I have read is close to 2" on the G. This seems like too much to align the car to spec. Opinions?
Also, anyone have any idea if the stock wheels will clear the Stoptech 13" kit.
I plan to add 19" Volk SF-Winnings soon, 19x8.5 (offset A, +38 all around), I would like to run 255/35 tires, or 245/40 or 35 if the 255's are not possible. Are 255's all around possible, opinions?
That is it for now, sorry for the long post, I am sure it will not be the last. I look foward to joining you in my Journey to automotive bliss....

Good to hear that you will no longer be door challenged. welcome to the fold. you should cross-post the brakes question, pointed out above.
As for a 2" drop, that's a lot! You will def need camber kits, however, still not sure if it will be back in spec.
I know you are gonna enjoy it here!
Cheers, ted

Good luck with the trade. I did this recently and am very happy with the G, more so than the Z.

I will get the car on Saturday, it is a done deal....
The reason: a few minor problems, I did not like Nissan's service, I wanted something with a little more luxury, and hopefully slightly better build quality (more along the lines of my Maxima)....

Your Z was one sweet looking ride my friend.
I still would love to own one, so that is why I am curious about why you guys are getting rid of your rides.
I had plenty of fit and finish issues with my G sedan, but I attribute that to being a first year build

Re: Trading My Z for G35 Sedan: ?'s
I think a lot of my Z fit and finish issues were because it was an early production model (VIN #864). I don't have my expectations set too high.
My 97 Maxima was much better than the Z, and I bought it with 60,000 miles. If the G is closer to the Maxima than the Z I will be satisfied....

Actually, I had an 04 that rattled a lot and just didn't seem like they spent a whole lot of time putting the interior together. However, it was still a great car.
