intelligent key

Has anybody ever converted their 05/06 standard ignition system to the 05/06 intellegent key ignition system? I don't care about having the push button style of the 07, I just want the smart key system. Ideas?

I have never seen a post about this before. I would guess a standard reply will be that it is just very expensive/difficult to do.

It probably has a lot of wiring to do.

I am thinking of making my car to start with a key pad instead of a key. I think that's better and easier than the smart key.

there was somebody on the tl forum(acurazine) that had a start button and the auto entry sytem on the tl. But the reason he got it done was because he didnt have an arm or something. this was a while back.

Based on the wiring in the shop manual for the 05 sedan, it's amazingly complicated. I'd suggest you pick something else. :-) The Nav system's also amazingly complicated, so don't go there either.
