Re: G35 vs. Solara Convertible

Thanks for all your responses. The Z is too small as I have two little kids. I've decided against the Solara. This seat problem in the G really concerns me. I'm now comparing the G to the Acura TL. Same price range and simiar performance.

Re: G35 vs. Solara Convertible

I'd say try the G's seats to see if it fits you. I have the coupe and I think the width of my butt is at the upper limit of what the seat is designed to accomodate. If I have a sore back from something else, the seat would cause some discomfort. If my back is fine, the seat is very comfortable and grips you tightly. I believe the sedan have a less sporty seat than the coupe though, but I'm not sure.

As for comparing G35 and TL, I think if you came from an E-class, you should wait for the Lexus GS430 or Acura RL. Or wait longer for the M45. Otherwise between the G sedan and TL, I probably lean toward the TL, although the G35x would be seriously considered since I live in MN.
Or maybe you should just get a G35 coupe for style, performance, and kids-usable back seats.
