dont put wax on the debadged area if you plan on reapplying skyline emblems....the glue wouldnt stick very well on a coat of wax.....debadge....clean area.......reapply skylne emblem....then detail around the lettering

once they’re on they’re on pretty good... they really don’t need to "cure" or anything... but I'd wait a couple-few days for the helluvit... If you use the right tape you shouldn’t have a problem with them coming off... however, be careful of the "I"s... if you use the thin stuff (I do because it looks better) the I doesn’t have much to it so they can (and do) come loose after a while... I've never had one come off entirely, but I've re-done a couple... just check them every time you wash...

Just use an adhesive remover, some fishing line, and hand buff it.

Its easy.

Has anyone tried placing just the "G" in a different location? I am planning on debadging this weekend and I was trying to think of a unique place to put the G.

use bumper sticker remover, and floss. I do it to all my vehicles and friends vehicles.

you could get it from local auto store for like 5 bucks.

spray it let sit for 3 min then floss it.

clean area apply new emblems and thats it.

if you want i could do it for you and help you apply new badge.

same here bro. I have the DP and I did it myself, but I did have the heat gun (for shining military black boots) dental floss, goo gone and the followed by your favorite wax. Trust me it's no big task because I'm no pro and i did it. Letters came off pretty easy too made me wonder if they would have fallen of by themselves at some point. I have a 04 too if that made a difference.

I found that fishing line works better than floss. doesnt break as easily. However, use what you have. simple task that takes all of 5 minutes from starting to polishing up the area

anyone try rearranging the letters to form a new word? If you had infiniti and skyline, you can make all sorts of words, like kyle and fine. true jdm.

I never thought debadging can be a bitch. I went out there to blow dry all the writing and peel it off, so I started off with the smallest letter-the X after G35... I got the letter off, then the adhesive behind it wouldn't peel off for sh*t, I was standing there blow drying, applying bug & tar remover and rubbing, then I tried some rubbing alcohol and finally got it off (I waxed that little area after finally getting the adhesive off).

Did this happen cuz the G35x is actually glued on to the back bumper part of the car, meaning it wasn't heating up properly cuz it's glued onto plastic pretty much? I know the trunk lid isn't plastic, so I hope it comes off alright on that...

Anyone have this problem with their G? Should I continue to try'n remove the INFINITI writing or forget it?

apply more heat until the glue begins to "melt" and i used a credit card wrapped in a thin soft cloth to help pry it up. Hope that helps

Take off the letters first and then use adhesive remover on whatever is left behind...? Or do I apply it before trying to remove the letters?

take the letters off first...

I let it sit with the trunk facing the sun for a while (to help soften the adhesive)... remove the letters (I use a soft plastic squeegee type thing, some people like dental floss, others just use their finger nails)... the tape won’t come all the way off with the letters, try to get as much as possible without scratching the paint of course... then spray 3M adhesive remover directly on the remaining tape (put a paper towel bellow cause it will run - I try to angle the trunk up a bit to keep the adhesive remover from running)... wait a minute or 2 and rub/wipe off - the glue tape will kinda ball up (some people describe as booger-like)... then wash off with water and wipe down with detail spray.... that's how I do it.

Other people probably have methods that work well too...

i never used a blow dryer or heat gun. in my opinion using those is a extra step that is not neccesary when taking off badges
