Maybe a little backup battery for an alarm?

Post What is it?

Try this:

1. Check to see whether there is another similar looking piece on the other side of the car near the other headlight, then it can possibly be an aftermarket headlight ballast.

2. It could be an alarm/sensor the hood of the car. So it may be malfunctioning and thinking that the hood is open.

3. Check to see if there is a part number on the item, and then enter it into Google or autopartswarehouse.com

Hope this helps for troubleshooting and good luck.

The 05 sedan shop manual says it's the Canada-only DRL control module (under Electrical, page LT-38). I don't see any mention of what to do if it buzzes and the lights blink though... just a bunch of troubleshooting steps if the lights don't come on at all. There is also a DRL relay in the diagrams, in the battery compartment farthest back toward the firewall, could be that's blown. Good luck.

+1 - it's not after-market. If it's buzzing, take it to the dealer and ask them what to do about it.

It's the DRL module. None of us in the US have this on our car. Sounds like there is a short or the relay is going out.

Take it to the dealer and have them see if it needs replaced.

Daytime Running Lights (DRL are required on all Canadian cars)

Thanks for the help everyone it does sound like its the DRL module. Took it too the dealer they want $105 to diag. So I just asked how much for the module ($205). Anyone know where I could order one for a lot cheaper?
