Check the tire pressure... especially on the rear tires. It almost sounds like your rear tires are loosing grip and it can happen if they are over inflated. If you have inexpensive tires with decent tread, then you might want to get a different set of tires.

Great to hear you're a friend of the environment! That was a funny line, right there.

I had a similar 'wobbly' experience with an F250 truck, put new Michelins on it and it felt like I was swaying down the highway. Turned out on those tall tires, they needed to be inflated a bit on the high side or sidewall flex would induce this swaying motion. Probably not the case for you, but you should check the pressure, and it could just be the tires. What are they?

Some cheap Cooper things....

Not sure, if it still does it once i get my Coupe 19s (CONFIRMED BUY IN LIKE 4 WEEKS!!!) i will have it checked out, but im fairly sure its the tires.

And yea, im gonna go smoke these tires off and recycle whatever is left lol. Seems like the proper thing to do

What's the make and type of tires? How old are they?

Comparing the ride to your old G35X and new G35 sedan with the Sport package isn't going to do you much good. The X's have AWD and have a different feel and the 08 G35S is going to have a far more controlled ride. The non-sport equipped G35's ride sedately compared to the sedan's with the Sport package. Regardles though, the G chassis can be a bit twitchy because of the fairly quick steering and sporty suspension.

First off, I would drive all around various highways for at least 1 hour to verify that it's just not a particular type of road that causes this behavior. My G has all sorts of ride/handling quirks depending on the type of pavement I'm on. I would also verify that the air pressures are correct. If none of that helps, then I would then rotate the tires and see if it changes anything and I'd inspect the tires for any strange wear. It is quite possible that one tire may have radial ply separation. I highly doubt there's a suspension issue because those issues are often pretty extreme. Your shocks should be fine for a good while longer.

When i got down the highway, my car feels like im back in an SUV. Its almost as if the wheels are on loosly and it kinda sways back and forth. When you go over a ridge it kinda wobbles side to side as well.

Our old 04 never felt like this (it felt planted and secure) and same with the 08. But mine, just feels wobbly.

I dont know if its because of RWD or the tires or somone not putting the wheels on, but its driving me nuts!

Any input?
Does your steering vibrate at all or is it rock solid?

I had the same problem on my 04 Non-Sport.

The dealer said it was probably my cheap tires and possibly shocks. So they replaced the shocks and that helped a little bit. Then I replaced my stock 17 inch rims and cheap tires with 18s and bridgestones. Problem gone...

So from that I would assume the problem was shocks and cheapo tires...

Good Luck...

EDIT: I did replace springs (350Z Unrevised) when i changed wheels...so that might help too. Sorry that I dont have a solid answer...

I drove on a freeway tonight and it wasnt bad. Still feel it.

Im almost 100% positive its the tires.

And Mike, i do have a little bit of vibration in my steering wheel, dont know if thats just the road though.

Im praying its the wheels.

BTW i some times get creaks and pops when i go over bumps. They are loud, and sound kinda like the old 04s creeks and pops lol

vibration could *possibly* be a need for balancing on your tires/rims.

Keep in mind I'm not a mechanic or anything...

Based on what I've seen in this thread, could knock out two birds with one stone... new tires + balancing?

Not gonna spend the money on new tires, getting 19s with performance tires, then mounting snows on my 17s, car was just balanced.

It if persists once i get the 19s, i will have it checked out

take off the wheels and check everything. Last week my front sway bar bolt came off. Hopefully your fix was as easy as a fix as mine was.

make sure it is not the wheel bearing. Check for play of your wheels with your car on a lift. g/l with finding the cause
