I am about to install a set of Autovation pedals covers on the car. The instructions mention that it may be possible to remove the hard plastic cover that is on the gas pedal. For those who have installed these, were you able to remove the plastic cover or did you install the aluminum cover on top of the plastic?

I installed it over the plastic piece. I believe it is a solid piece which can't be detached other than completely off the peddle assembly.

Re: Q for Autovation pedal people.
I bought a set of drilled aluminum pedals from Grubb's
Infiniti. I removed the stock accelerator pedal. There is a clip
on the back that holds it to the metal bar. Very easy to remove.

Re: Q for Autovation pedal people.
Those are the OEM Z pedals, which does replace the entire unit. The Autovation Gas pedal needs to screw onto the existing plastic gas pedal.

Re: Q for Autovation pedal people.
the gas pedal from autovation just gets screwed on. drilling through the other metal pedals is not fun, est. time is more than the 30 mins or so they say.
