Newbie - 06 G35 brakes?
Hello,
I am new to this forum and the g's. After months of research I purchased a 06 G35 sedan A/T with all the options but navi. I noticed that if I am going 80 mph or more and I brake hard there is a little bit of a shake to the dashboard and shiftknob. Im wondering if this is normal or not? I have 40k miles on the car and I have a warranty up until 80k. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I think people should stop using brakes on the highway... even when exiting you can just let off the gas and be down to 45 mph without using the brakes if you have the space.
Sometimes brake vibration is caused by uneven amounts of pad material on the rotors. When braking make sure you don't let hot pad sit on one place on the rotor. Try and creep and keep the pad moving a little if possible.
This is not normal, your rotors are probably warped. Are you sure there is no shaking (even slight) without pressing on the brakes. If there is your tires might be out of balance. FYI rotor are wear and tear and are not covered under warranty.
There is no shaking that I can feel when the brakes are tapped lightly. Could the rotors be bad with only 40k miles or does that not matter? I can have the dealer check them out, but I probably wouldn't get them replaced there.
i have an 06 sedan, i just bought factory spec/sized rotors from ocautosports, really friendly people and great rotors and put on some Hawk pads, the whole replacements cost a lot less than factory but was a good upgrade from stock.
