Will 05-06 Door Panels work on 03-04 Doors?

Just curious, has anyone attempted this? To upgrade the door panels to the 05-06? I would think that they would bolt up without any modification whatsoever. What do you think?

I think they would swap over but not 100% sure.

Why would you want to do that anyways?

Isn't there softer armrests on the 05-06. Also, the trim is real aluminum not painted scratched up plastic.

I wanted to do this but the junk yard wanted too much $$ for the panels.

I think they should bolt right on.. DO IT!

Ah..I see. Wouldn't it be cheaper to just replace the door panels? Not sure if a junkyard would part with just the panels or want to sell a whole door.

Good luck....let us know if you go forward with it.

this is something I've been thinking about doing since the 05 came out... the padded leather armrest is literally one of the only things I like better about 05-06 (and the front hood seal)... the Infiniti tech I used at the time was willing to warranty swap "a" door panel, but said they would baulk if he tried to do 2... they are like $1100 each (if I remember correctly)...

I even went to 4-5 upholstery shops to see if they could replicate the armrest... most said no because 03-04 is molded plastic... 1 said he could do it but I needed to get an 05 to him to see exactly what I wanted (never got around to it)...

So, eventually I plan to get to a salvage yard and try to find a pair.

Once you've driven an 05-06 sedan, you will NEVER be content with the 03-04 armrests... This thread has me re-visiting the idea - DAMN IT! As if I don’t have enough car **** on the list!!!

Because they look better in almost every where. Door pulls look great in aluminum finish, they're actually aluminum pieces, brushed aluminum, give sit a more luxury feeling. Armrest is also a big plus, and the door handles are chrome, gives it a more luxury look aswell. I think the door panels look a million times better than the 03/04 just because of the door pulls.

Oh ****....I think I was asleep when I first posted....for some reason, I thought you meant the whole door...lol Thats why I was like "why?"

I'll go back to my corner now

There's a f'ed up drivers door at a junkyard near my house...if you have black interior..I can see if they will part with the door panel.

That is so tempting. I want to convert over to black so bad. But alas, I think I'll have to wait.

You will not have a problem the newer door panel will work on your car...it is held on by plastic push pins I think 2 philips screws, the harness for the window switch is a direct plug in...GL
