you'd have to swap full pumpkins... the only drop in for the AT sedan is Quaife.

Edit: and I think Kaaz...

I have a 3.3VLSD out of a 5AT coupe in my car. My sedan came with a 3.5VLSD rear end but the 3.3 helps a lot with high power/ high boost cars.

Yes.

I was the first G or Z owner to do a oem VLSD swap in late 2003. I made the mistake of doing the swap with parts and not a pumpkin swap. Keep in mind that the oem VLSD is good for slippery starts in northern winter climates, but does little to nothing for opening up the performance envelope of the car. It is not a proactive system, it has to allow slip to occur before it makes a attempt to rain in the offending wheel. It also will only resist so much torque before the viscous fluid is sheared past and it's a open diff again. If you want something that makes a differance, get a clutch type LSD or a torsen type.

I am sure there is LSD on all 05 - 06 G35. but the 04 im unsure of because it shares so many of the same parts as the 03.
No 2003 G35 sedan reguardless of transmission or suspenson choice has VLSD. I replaced my open diff with a VLSD (worst mod money I have spent to date).

No 2004 auto G35 sedan had VLSD, only the 2004 6mt has VLSD.

No 2005/2006 G35 sedan without the sport suspension has VLSD, all 2005/2006 6mt's and automatics with the sport suspension have VLSD.

I wonder if it would be worth it to install a Quaife in my car.

you been saying you're paying down the mods you've done... now you want to add more

cost vs benefit I don't see the value... if you want to spend the $$$ though, it's nice to have... you'll probably get more value with your power - but it's still tough to justify the expense (IMO).

It is hard to justify the expense. Even with the 3.3 my rear end is all over the place in 1st, 2nd and lower part of 3rd right now. Sometimes the top of 2nd and all of 3rd has grip.
I think for the few times I need the extra grip it is not worth the cost. Maybe down the line but yes, I need to get some stuff paid off for now.

with your power you'd probably benefit a bit more than I do... but you're right it's hard to justify the expense, especially for daily driving... good call on down-the-line...

however – keep your eye out for the AutoTech (Quaife America) version… it might be more reasonably priced… and maybe by the time it’s out some of your current stuff will be paid down…

I would rather do one that does not require new clutches, etc down the line.

VLSD=viscous type LSD. It uses a viscous fluid to lock up the differential.
