left windows down
so last night forgot to put up the windows and it rained really hard. So what is the best way to get rid of the upcoming smell? And what are some reprucossions to this. Would the warranty still cover some things?
i would say to alteast leave the window open for now to air it out. then try to seek out a professional detailer to handle the water extraction if it retained alot of water. i dont see how the warranty can cover damage cause by your own negligence, but it doesnt hurt to try i guess.
I would remove the seats and then get a shop vac...and vaccum up the carpet of as much water as you can.
From there, buy two cartons of Damp Rid (below link...you can get it at your local hardware store)

Close the doors when you put the tubs/cartons in there.
Good luck

well vaccumed the car today. not as much water as i thought shoud be. and it was a hot day today also and so i left windows down. well there isnt a smell at the moment. only problem is when i sit in the car and get out after a drive my a$$ feels wet.
Yup, I've heard water will do that to ya,
Anywho, like everyone else said, vacuum it up, put something in it to soak up what you cant vacuum, and hope that it airs out. It will start to smell like Mildew/dirty feet if you don't get the water out.
Before you ask how I know, I install 12v products for a living, and there's nothing like climbing upside down under someone's dash for 3.5+ hours for a remote start and having to deal with mildew smell because people can't figure out how to dry out the water puddles from their wet *** shoes. *grumbles*
