ok... rims coming in tomorrow....
plan was going to put them on just as if I were to change 4 flat tires.
A friend said I need to have my RIMs put on by a professional becuase he will
hand torque to right amnount of pressure???
WTF is he talking about???? is this nesseccery???

no, use a torque wrench if you have one, but you will be o.k. putting on and taking off the rims by hand. you don't need a professional to put them on. if anything, guys at tire shops will use an air impact driver. the real damage is done to the rotor from over torquing.

j/k, his intentions were good, I think you just got confused by the term 'hand-torque' by which he probably meant 'not using an impact gun' but rather a proper torque wrench.

It is a good idea to get a 1/2" drive torque wrench to torque your wheels. Maybe one of your buddies has one.

I find hand tightening is best. The last time the dealer touched my wheels he put them on so tight I had to use a 3 foot breaker bar to get them loose. I normally just put them on reasonably tight with the stock lug wrench. (I've never had one come loose.)
