03 Sedan AT Fluid Check ?

I went to check my AT this evening and to my surprise there is no dipstick on this G? WTF?

Is this correct, I have the shop manual and they call for using a "special" tool to check the level. However after reading in other forums, some let on that there is a level stick on the charge tube cap?

Does anyone know the story on this? Has anyone found an alternative? I suppose I could do a complete change and measure what's taken out as a start. Sure would be nice to have the level indicator though.

My '03.5 AT has a tranny fluid dipstick, and it is my understanding that some if not all '03 AT sedans do not have the dipstick from the factory. Still doesn't make sense to me...

Buy the $10 dipstick and you're good to go. Mine didn't come with one.

Question. Would Riverside Infiniti reconize this p/n? I want to order plugs, gasket and revised SB links. Would be nice to order all at once with this:

Factory 5AT Transmission Dipstick

I have a question for the early 2003s...

If you bought the replacement tranny dipstick do you leave that dipstick in, or do you keep that elsewhere? I wasn't sure whether to keep it in like other trannys. I have mine in my trunk because I was wary about keeping it installed in the charge pipe.

I'm leaving mine in. Why would it make a difference?

according to the FSM, it says to remove it...of course thats cuz it is a "special service tool"

I just wasn't sure if there was a different design in the charge pipe which would put the dipstick in a bad location. I was told that they are different charge pipes from a parts manager at infiniti.

I think that's more to do with the "customer" not driving off with the "special service tool"

I doubt the location of the dipstick inside the transmission is any different than a 350z or a newer G35 that has the dipstick.
Of course, I don't KNOW that. It just seems stupid that it would be.
