Compression-Rod related noise? or not (says the dealer)
Compression-Rod related noise? or not (says the dealer)
So I've been dealing with a nasty "clucking" noise whenever I go over bumps (even the tiniest ones) - and I'm fed up.
I always chalked it up to being the compression rod because of all these problems I hear about - however, when I called the dealer in my area, they said that the compression rod TSB only addresses the creaking noise (which I do have), whereas the clucking noise is something completely different - which actually involves changing the lower compression rods.
Could anyone confirm this? and if so, anyone have a cheap(er) alternative to fix this? I need to replace one, if not both of my front rods which isn't going to be cheap.
I did a search here and my browser keeps timing out, hopefully this has not been answered already.
Thanks

yeah. i have a question, i bought my car at Carmax and picked up their extended warranty, and i have the option to go to an outside source. How do i get my compression rods fixed but want it covered under my warranty with Carmax. if i had known this before i had bought the car, i would of had them take care of this when i bought the car 3 1/2 months ago!!
