the red leds are a huge contrast to the black paint. so when brakes are applied they are actually easier to see than before. i wouldn't black out tails on any other color car. also the reverse lights when backing shine completely through as if there was no black on them at all. btw cops here are very leniant on tails. if you cant see the bright red leds in front of you when someone is stopping, you shouldn't be driving in the first place

I've used translucent paint on my old Maxima's taillights. I smoked the tails with three light coats. The brakes shined through very well, but even so, there still a slight reduction in brake lighting. You black them out, you're going to cut out light and there's no way that all the light will still shine through like OEM. Luckily it appears he didn't use that crap "Niteshades" crap which really kills the lighting. You guys are also forgetting there are reflectors in the housings which become very muted once the case in painted. IMO, blacking out the tails is dangerous and is going to catch the attention of law enforcement.

As for the look, I don't like it. It's a bit extreme.

Wow, you really need to see brake lights for you to slow down? There is also the spoiler LED light and the 3rd brake light too.

Or you can pull your head out of your *** and not stare at the guys lights infront of you and look around for a stop sign or a red light. Maybe you can keep your distance and not brake when the guy infront brakes?

Thats ****ing hot man, nicest blacked out lights i've seen on the forums

Ummm....okay. Yeah, we don't brake lights because everyone's a professional driver and don't drive at night. Oh wait, F1 cars evn have brake lights Brake lights are red for a reason, they get your attention. I maintain a lot of distance between me and the car ahead of me all the time, but when the idiot in front of me has no brake lights or just a high-mount brake light, I still find myself closing in very quickly before I figure out that they've got a braking issue. I can guarentee you the police will issue him a ticket for that within the next few months. Cops aren't stupid. They know cars don't come like that from the factory. The 3rd gen RX-7 had pretty dark tails, but they were nothing like this.

Bright tails are especially important in fog or mist where visibility is minimal.

I dont know what the big deal about smoked lights are. I have them done as well and they light up fine. This is just with the parking lights on and not even the brake light and its fine.

Jeremys14, good work man. I wish I could've done mine myself.

I think it looks good... but ....in the real world, ur looking for trouble... way to dark ... as mentioned, ur looking for "five O" to pull u over and bust your chops!
BTW- got pulled over for noting having a front license plate on ( chrome infiniti plate ) ended up NOT getting a ticket for it BUT found out my license was suspended for over 8 months!!! go figure. I had no freakin idea.
