blacked out tails version 2.0
blacked out tails version 2.0
so last time i posted my blacked out tails it was just after doing them. we used black tint model paint. as months went by the paint faded and the looked like crap so i decided to redo them. this time i used auto paint thinned at in three layers. i think they came out pretty good.

IMHO, i think it looks really hot. lekker has a point about the lights, but the lenses themselves actually look better blacked out. everyone will be able to appreciate the hot lights and the hot blacked out lenses this way... i'm really drunk and if this made no sense i'm sorry.

i couldn't see ****.. and i would definitely have sued for him blacking out the lights and causing the accident (if the accident was my fault)

black out taillight are the ****...its idiots like some of you here that cops give us tickets because of blacked out taillights...cuz you gotta sue someone who has smoked taillights, so stupid ...if ur relying on the person in front of u to have red tails for u to stop than u must be a horrible driver kthnxbai
Slightly smoked is one thing, but this is really dangerous. Additionally, with as sue happy as this country is, if someone hits you and gets injured and the insurance company sees that you've illegally modified your brake lights to the point that light is compromised, you could be asking for a world of hurt.
ehh... this debate is really pointless, he doesn't have pics with the lights on, he has pics of it sitting. we have no way of knowing if lights passage is being effected by the tint.
My lights are blacked out the same way and you can see the brake lights no problem. Maybe you guys forgot that they're LED and the light output is a lot stronger than conventional lights. Also, there is a THIRD brake light, so if you can't tell that the car is braking, you must be blind.
The blacked out tails look great on an OB sedan or coupe. I have actually seen them with the tailights on and brakes applied, and they light up pretty decent if not better than the non-painted version. The LED lights are a huge contrast to the black paint so it is real easy to distinguish the lights when driving behind. So IMHO, I think it is a misconception that the black paint or overlays on the tailights cause them to lose their effectiveness. It is of course up to the cop to determine if the instigator is ticket worthy for the modified tailights.
Anyways, job well done to the OP
