03 vs. 04 Differences
03 vs. 04 Differences
What are the major and minor differences between the 03.5 and 04 Sedans? I noticed that the Dealer in Columbus (OH) has about eight 03 Sedans still on the lot and I'm sure they would be willing to deal quite a bit over the 04 models. Any plusses to getting the 04 or waiting for an 05? Seems there is not much info other than conjecture on the 05's.
Also, anyone want to weigh in on color selection? I really like the Carribean Blue by my wife hates it. She says it makes a classy car look cheap but I think it makes it look racey. Other colors are rather tame.
Thanks for your input and advice!

Re: 03 vs. 04 Differences
The amount of difference depends on which sedan version your looking for. If your considering AWD, it wasn't available in '03. Heated seats and mirrors are std. in '04. If your considering a 6 speed, it has a limiled slip differential in '04. For colors, they dropped the green and added diamond graphite and the dark blue. For Ohio, you should really consider the G35x; we have it and love it. They also changed the CD changer in '04, because of problems with the old one.
No actual word on the '05s, except rumors about an upgraded interior????

04 6MT's got limited slip and seat warmers. Can't remember what else.

I think your wife is right. the Carribian Blue does make a
30,000 dollar car look like an $18,000 car. Even one of
the Infiniti Salesman said the same to me. To each his
own............
2003 TwBlue 5AT Sedan, sunroof,
Graphite Leather, splashguards, HKS exhaust,
14 wire Grounding kit, 350Z duct, Stillen CAI
Underbody rear diffusers, Drilled alum pedals

Yep, everyone I talk to also loves the Caribbean Blue. The comments I always hear is that the car is incredibly boring in black/silver/white, and that the blue makes it look fun and sporty as it actually is once you drive it

Re: 03 vs. 04 Differences
Thanks for everyone's info and input.
I am leaning towards a 6MT so I would definitely want the limited slip diff. With the miserable gas mileage the G gets in general, at least the 6MT gets you a few extra mpg. I've always driven a stick but was considering going auto because I had knee surgery two years ago and couldn't drive my car for about 3 months. I'm also in Ohio and would need the bun warmers.
But the X is out of the question, I don't want the extra weight or the fuel mileage penalty. RWD does fine in the winter if you get a decent set of dedicated snows. It makes an AMAZING difference.

Re: 03 vs. 04 Differences
I was of 2 minds about the blue. At times I wanted it, other times I wasn't sure.
However, I also wanted another, fairly rare feature, the navigation system. The only blue I found with navi and blue was a 2003 (or 2003.5), but it also had the dark interior. I decided that the willow interior and my close second color choice would work out better (Desert Platinum).

Re: 03 vs. 04 Differences
Yeah, that was my one regret. I wish I could have tracked down one with Navi, but that probably would have put it out of my price range, as I cut a deal on this one
