Center Console Color Scheme, suggestions????
Center Console Color Scheme, suggestions????
Hmm so my whole interior is black and I just replaced my factory with a Kenwood Navigation/MP3 Player. Problem was the in dash kit didn't come in black...only silver.
At first I was irritated but I now I'm thinking I could make it work if I change some of the black pieces to a matching silver. Question is, what should I change?
Here's some pics.
BEFORE, with everything black.

AFTER:

The above pic, maybe the circular piece around the clock can be changed to silver? If it's seperate from the entire rectangular casing around the screen w/ the temperature on it.

By the way, I forgot to flip down the storage box when I was taking pics but it's still black, that I'll have to replace to be silver.
Another thing I was considering was changing the center 2 vents to be silver and maybe leave the outside ones black? Or all the vents silver?

Or leave the vents black and change the lining on both sides of the vents to silver as shown above?

These also. Oh and the wood handles are going to be replaced w/ chrome ones.

The ashtray and the piece around the shifter **** will probably have to be changed to silver as well.
Which if any of these changes should I make? Would the car look wierd with a silver center console? Keep in mind the shifter is chrome, chrome pedals, and soon to be chrome door handles.
Obviously this could get expensive, if I could only find the ****ing in dash kit in black, but it's in and I think I could make it work, might even help the new mp3 player stand out. Suggestions?????

So I thought about it and so far I'm considering only adding silver to the entire center console. Meaning the black flip top, the two center vents, and the black piece w/ the heated seat warmer switches on it. Anyone have a 2003 G35 w/ a silver interior? I'm curious how it's set up color wise.
You can get kits in different finishes here

They have smaller kits, less pieces so you don't have to go all out if you dont want too. I think either a brushed alluminum or synthetic aluminum will go well with your interior.
I'm going through this as well. I have a maple wood kit that I am most likely going to be replacing with a real brushed alluminum kit. The problem I have is that the handles I ordered to replace my maple ones are a silver/fake alluminum so the brushed kit I order won't be an exact match but I think it will still go better than the maple wood.
