Couple weeks ago I brought my car in for the thirty thousand mile service. I've gotten my tires replace around 28k. Now that my car is almost 35k, and gas prices have been rising steadily, I've been watching my gas mileage. I seem to be getting around 13-16 mpg. That is close to what it's supposed to be, but when I was driving the loaner, the mileage was a great deal better. I make trips to LA from San Diego, and because they took my car for the weekend, I took the loaner to LA. The mileage felt dramatically different. The gas gauge didn't drop as mine does over the long drive. I've had mine since July of 2002. Is this normal? Is there something I don't know? I usually keep my G under 3000 rpms if i can, and I don't do a lot of stop and go driving. Help! Thanks.
