Airbag Sensor Improperly Installed

I just completed repairing my 2003 Infiniti G35 Sedan and the airbag light is still solid on the dash. After reprograming the Airbag Diagnosis Sensor Unit (through ebay, I know the dealer says you must replace the unit but I have herd of many people who have done the reprogram on ebay and worked) the light is still solid. After inquiring about buying a crash zone sensor from a g35driver.com member. They told me the sensor (the one with the black LED looking thing) which is below the crash zone sensor ( the rectangular box) does not belong there.

Here is a pic of how the mechanics put back my front crash zone sensor

Can anyone tell me if this is wrong? Post a pic of how theirs looks? And if its all right then why my airbag light is always on.

Thanks!

But from what I've herd the sensor at the bottom should be in a different place? Can anyone confirm this?

You could check out the Factory Service Manual at www.infinitihelp.com. It should show you where the sensor is supposed to be mounted and help you diagnose the problem.

Hmm thanks for the suggestion but I already downloaded the Service Manual from this site and searched through all the components. There is a section on SRS even and it shows how to remove and install the rectangular sensor but im not sure about the small black one underneath.

Take a look at another 03 G35 and compare.

Brilliant idea - go find a used car lot with a G35 on it and take a look.
