Atco Meet 1/4 Mile Times

Re: Atco Meet 1/4 Mile Times
Anytime my man. Theres one up off 176 going towards reading i want to try as its not that far either way. The Z is lighter by 300 or so pounds. Throw a carbon finer hood go on a diet and throw on some all the na mods you can and you can be in the 13.3-13.4 area no problem - apparently.
The wheelbase is shorter by several inches at 60 pounds or so per inch of steel frame (guess). thats bitchin for naturally aspirated and you'll be whizzing past many many m3's.

I don't think its that easy as you say. With some mods or a set of sticky tires yes, but in stock form its difficult. If you know of anyone who has managed to break in the 13's with a stock sedan please share it with us.

Re: Atco Meet 1/4 Mile Times
I agree, BobbyD.
Motor Trend (08/03 edition) got 14.3@100.3 MPH from an '03 6MT Sedan, and that's fast, not to mention pretty quick for not having an LSD!
With some strong mods (25-40 gain in HP & Lbs. torque) and sticky tires (as BobbyD said), maybe you dip into the high 13's, maybe 13.8's with a loss of weight, too, but I doubt anything more. That's just MHO, though.

I think i;ve seen it on fresh alloy - not personally familiar. Also thought they got a sub 14 in a mag..seem as tho it can happen. I think with a trans mod like Gurgen has the times can get pretty awesome. Where's gurgen been and anyone remember what his best times where..his may have the most na mods of anyone ever coupe or sedan.
edit: saw he got a 13.9 down from 14.7 stock. Not bad for 5at.

Either way our cars are fast. Z's just rip us apart though huh!? Anyways...I'm gettin my car back within 2 weeks or so, so when i get it back, SixFive, we'll have to go. What part of Philly u from? Dont you all wish we had like $10,000 laying around that we can waste on our cars!? God i wish money was that simple and easy!

Did any of you guys catch this old beauty? Speedholic thinks it's a Chevy but I think it's a Rambler. Now he was putting down 8.5s Nothin' like old American Muscle. He was killing everything!

Re: Atco Meet 1/4 Mile Times
Dont spend 10k on your car unless you never sell or trade it. If I was gonna blow MORE money on cars it would be for M5 savings account and M5 maintenance account. Not many mods to do to those tho or so i hear. I live in Plyouth Meeting. I was going to go in May for sure. Lets get evo and ed_g and some other locals and hit one of the tracks.

Re: Atco Meet 1/4 Mile Times
Not sure what else there is for me to do at this point. I'm trying to avoid spending as much on my next mod as i have on the previous ones combined. Technosquare and exhaust is all i may be up for ever and I'll have her for a while so no hurry. At 14.2 i am happy that i can run with a boxster s or 300C hemi...according to thier mag times.

Re: Atco Meet 1/4 Mile Times
Here is the scan of sundays slips - I am the 14.25 in the first one and the 14.57 in the second run.
The first run is against a 6 speed coupe and the second is against an impressive 300zx n/a with some kind of mods. He would have run in the 13's in the am.

Re: Atco Meet 1/4 Mile Times
It was a fun day. Even though I got there late, I got to see some G's and Z's racing. Here is the pic I got of a Sedan racing an older Z. Don't know who's screen name it was for the sedan or who won. I know it was very close. (Kids distracted me.)
