Re: remote tricks

The auto open/close windows have a sensor that senses a greater current draw to reverse the window if it hits something in it's path (like a hand or head). The motor will draw more current in it's effort to try to continue upward. The sensor immediately sees the added current draw and reverses the window.

Re: remote tricks

The buttons don't stay down. They do have a 2-detent throw like the front auto buttons. But they spring back, and some control module somewhere in the car controls the window motors.

Re: remote tricks

I would guess that retrofitting it would be about as much a PITA as retrofitting the factory Nav system.

Hey, is this the only car in the world with seat memory where the remotes are NOT coded as Driver 1 and Driver 2?

Re: remote tricks

this is something interesting i noticed with the alarm and remote. if the door is locked and then unlocked, it will automatically lock all door if you don't open the doors in about 40-45 seconds

i think this is to prevent accidentally unlocking the doors...

Re: remote tricks

That's exactly what it's for.

Another thing we're missing is.. when you stick the car in D and drive away, the doors don't lock. When you stop, stick it in P, and turn off the engine, they don't unlock. Come on, Infiniti.. the wires are already there, it would have cost about 2 cents more to add that bit of programming to the computer.

Re: remote tricks

Personally, I hate it when I start a car and the doors lock. I get very annoyed and feel "trapped". I am happy the G doen't do that.

Re: remote tricks

Most cars that do this, it's optional and can be turned on and off by the dealer.

Re: remote tricks

my 97 mustang had the auto lock feature.. i think it's to prevent car jackers.. it would automatically unlock when you turn the car off.. and you can just open the doors w/o having to unlock them first.. it was made so you could open it from the inside but not from the outside.. if ford could do this, why couldn't nissan?

Re: remote tricks

if they always had it, how come nissan can't develop it into theirs? it probably wouldn't be that much trouble.. it's pretty embarrassing when you drive up, park, turn off your car, and proceed to try to open your door, but finding it's locked.. ppl are already attracted to the car, and then they see you do something like that.. embarrassing.. not that it's happened to me... that often.

Re: remote tricks

you very own "hot chick" standard with the G would be a very good idea.... maybe we should submit that enhancement idea to nissan.....

Re: remote tricks

Hey Pesti, There's a chick that talks to you from the Navi. She 'massages' my mind somewhat.
