with your budget, your status, and your use for the G. Don't kid yourself man, run regular tires made for that size.

IMO tire stretching is for cheesy FWD cars. Maybe its just me, but I would much rather gloat about the fact that I am running some fatass 285's than some stretched 235's. Plus leaving 2 patches of rubber that are really wide just bring a smile to my face.

i ask a question weather people like it or not. i only asked cause i see alot of people with coupes or 350z with stretch/semi stretch tires. i already know what tire sizes i wanna run, i asked gdup everyone says he knows whats best haha

my status = broke 18yr old who spent his life savings on rims

I had th stretched look.

The roads in my area suck cause so i was very nervus.

I just dont think it realy looked as good as some of the seiously wide rims that people put on on the coupes, that simply require stretched tires.

i dont realy have a good pic, but a 275 falkon tire on a 10" rim was stretched , but i noticed people with 275 on other 10" rims dont realy look streatched , so i dunno if it was the rim or the tire brand.

I didn't know people did that on purpose. Someone else said it too... I thought it was just bad rim/tire fitment. Seriously, I pointed stretched tires out to the gf and said look at this dumb dumb who cant get the right size tire.

But like all things, to each their own.

When it comes to drifting, when they stiffen the suspension and chassis for better response, the sidewall on the tires becomes a weak link. So they stretch the tires out to get rid of as much sidewall as possible.

This makes a great track set-up, but for street, it's uncomfortable and very dangerous... hit a good pothole and you really risk damaging a wheel, along with many other things that can go wrong when you stretch a tire out like that, making the tire work how it wasn't designed to work.

And because most of the people doing this on their street cars are still running the soft OEM bushings everywhere, they aren't benefiting from this performance oriented mod at all... And IMHO, stretched tires don't look good either...

yeah, i have 275 on my 10inch rears, and it doesn't look nearly as stretched as yours. Yours looks more stretched by juuuust a lil.

I don't get it. But I don't get alot of things. Like big wings on 4-cyl FWD econoboxes and spinners.

Really? This sounds crazy to me. I can't believe the bead holds up to that kind of punishment when its holding on for dear life when just sitting still.

yeah i read that most drifters like to eleminate the sidewall for less traction or something but you gotta be good at drifting to have "control when out of control" haha corny fast and the furious line

*sigh* I hate when people say drifters do ANYTHING for LESS traction. Drifting requires every bit as much traction as any other motorsport. If they had no traction, how would they come out of the slide? They wouldn't, it would just continue to slide, OUT of control. Stretched sidewalls on tires in drifting is meant for exactly what *insert name of whoever said it* said--to eliminate sidewall flex.
