Now if we separate rock chips from bumper chips I think this fiberglass is a good material. Will it take a raccoon or other vermin head on? No, but neither will most bumpers. Can you repair this fairly easily yes.

Be happy the choice is even an option.
do you think the oem Nismo would fair better by a vermin hit? (small vermin ) or something like being driven into a high curb while parking etc?

Listen guys.... if you want to talk about it.. talk about it through PM's. This is not the place to discuss the matter ok? If it continues I will just delete the thread. Simple as that.

But I do appreciate you're POV's and where you are coming from. I understand you both.

Both great bumpers. one tough decision

I never said YOU compared it. I said it SHOULD be compared.

And please don't think you're special or I'm singling you out. I share the same scrutiny wth everyone.
???? I answered your direct questions! How do you expect me to do that without quoting them???? I didnt take them out of context - I quoted your question, then answered them directly.

You are simply amazing (and no, not in a good way).

I'm sorry but "stronger than everyone thinks" isn't a good quantifiable measurement for me. "everyone" has a different idea on how strong something is. I simply asked for a clarification. Didn't mean for you to blow a gasket over it.

the Kurukie fares well with “being driven into high curb parking” - I can attest to that (however, it did require paint touch-up).

Thankfully I don’t worry about hitting vermin.

So in conclusion – if your roads are riddled with vermin, maybe the Kurukie is not for you.

Jeff... I don’t know how to measure the strength of fiberglass anymore than you know how to measure the strength of poly... give it a rest.

BTW - I didn’t state it was "stronger than everyone thinks" I said its not as fragile is everyone (including me) was concerned about.

At least when I "quote" you its accurate.

OK time to cool this down a bit...

The fact is that no fiberglass bomber can be as strong as poly. Rookie's bumper is very high quality and can take a lot of abuse. Will it last as long as poly? Depends on how you ask the question. Will they both get paint chips? Yep. Will they both be damaged by debris in the road? Possibly. Poly will flex more under small impacts so it may not crack like glass and overall it is more durable but also more expensive.

Back to the OP, get the one you like more. You have to look at it every day!

I think the term "flex" is what he means by "strength".

hahaha, To crack or spider crack a glass bumper you're going to damage the paint first. Most of the time the paint will crack before the gelcoat and subsequent glass below it will take any damage.

Any discussion is a good discussion. Just realize this is the interwebnetz, it's all good in the end.

I think durability might be a more accurate question.

I was just wondering if he isn't able to measure the strength of poly or FG, how he was able to measure the "fragility" index of everyone wondering about it.

yeah, I'm sorry, I couldn't help it.

At least the strength/durability questions have been addressed (however the manner it was asked! lol)

So, it will be interesting to see what choice g35freak makes... since the poll is favoring Nismo (actually, thats why I wanted an option - because so many have/want the Nismo... I like tastefully unique)
