Unhappy Here she sits....car is very sad

Well, I'm new around here and so far over the last 2 years my G has been unreal. Not a single issue, just oil, gas, and other nice fluids here and there. A wash and wax whenever possible and the car drove like a dream.

Well, finally came a time for some basic maintenance. tires, air filter, and an oil change.

I started by taking the car to Valvoline about 2 months ago. Mistake #1
They did my oil change no problem. They also showed me my air filter which was all caked in garbage and i said put it back, I'm going to do my own as I didn't want a cheap piece of crap in there.

Last week I took it to my mechanic for an oil change, only to find out that valvoline neglected to reinstall 7 bolts on the skid plate. Yes, they basically left it hanging on the corners by a single bolt in each. Needless to say, the damn thing fell down while drive and part of it burned away, totally ruined. Furthermore, after popping the hood they left out 1 bolt and 3 of those push clips out of my intake. The damn thing was so loose and falling apart.

I went home, frustrated, and ordered myself a Stillen intake with Z tube.

Last thursday, 2 days after my oil change at my mechanic, I had him install 4 new tires for me, in which they ruined 2 of the wheels by completely scraping the finish off the edges halfway around 2 wheels. After a fight with them trying to tell me that scratching wheels is normal from mounting new tires, they are paying to get them refinished as we speak.

Prior to dropping the 2 wheels off at the refinisher today, I took the car and had the windows tinted, put my lip wing on, and debaged the dealer badge and g35x badage.

So now my car sits in my garage, one spare tire on one side, jackstand and jack on the other, resting silently waiting for me to fire her up again and go for a ride. Here are some crappy pics for now, but I did manage to get a quick 5 minute ride in with the intake before I took the wheels off and damnnnn is it loud, I love it. I can't wait to go for a cruise when it's all put back together.

Yep, it sucks for sure. And the mechanic that ruined them isn't doing the refinishing, it's another shop that specializes in it. I'm confident they will come out just as good as new.

Gotta love those types of comments. I'm calling Shenanigans on the tire shop. I work at a car dealership in the parts/service dept. and we never seem to have a problem mounting even "20 rims...go figure. At least they are getting them re-finished.

It's not even like they had a crap machine.... both the mounting and balancing machines were close to brand new. I think it was a bit of OE(Operator Error).

Thanks, I just decided I'm going to order the ipod integration kit and install that while she's down for the count. When I get the car back on the road it'll be like driving a new car!

thanks Recon, this was actually a mechanic that was referred to me and has done alot of other stuff on my old car. It's unfortunate it happened, but stuff happens and atleast they are fixing it.

On another note, I just ordered all the parts to integrate my ipod into my factory radio....Bye bye FM transmitter crap!

^^^ Check out the marketplace here - they come up for sale all the time. Expect to pay anywhere from $50 to $100.

^^^ You can still post in the marketplace, you just can't start your own thread (I think). If you can't post at all, you can always Private Message (PM) the poster of the thread.

Where are you located? In some of the major metro areas they come up for sale quite a bit.
