Anybody familiar with......

I've been checking out these rims but still kind of torn between going with 20"s or 19"s. Surprisingly the 20"s are cheaper than the 19"s staggered, obviously, and then the non staggered 19's are alittle cheaper. I really like the 20"s and the 19"s, figuring things out I am perferring the non staggered but here is where I run into a delimma, 19"s or 20"s? I am aware of the offset information and the threshhold that I can come close to before rolling fenders. Check them out on this sight and give me and idea....oh yeah I have an 06 RWD Sedan, if that gives a better pic on things.

I would check the price of tires. 19 inch tires are usually more expensive than 20 inch tires.

19's would ride better. I have always thought that with black rims it is best to go larger, they always seem to look smaller than they really are, IMO.

only thing bad about 19s are that tires are really expensive, 20s from what ive heard the ride quality sucks.

18 front 19 rear for a true staggerd look. 20's ride like a horse & buggy with zero sidewall, they usually weigh much more so you lose performance & fuel economy, and they look HOOPDIE on such a small car.

I beg to differ...granted, the same size and brand, 19" tires do run just a little more than 20" tires, but not that big of a difference like you state. Also, I have 20s and they dont ride that bad from 19's or 18's...of course, the logic is the bigger rims you go, the rougher the ride...but it's nowhere of sucking or else nobody on this forum would ride on dubs...

don't listen to these guys OP...get 20s if you want them...they do not look too big like some people say...but if you want to look ugly for that " real staggerered look" go for 18F and 19R

20's don't ride half bad actually..

when i ran 20s I went from LA vegas comfortably....so don't let ride comfort scare you......besides the tires are also going to be cheaper for this setup so I'd definitely go with the bling factor and ride on some dubs

You guys have great input, I went to Tork's website prior to starting this thread in order to examine the sideview and all other views of this particular rim and if you scroll down and look at the different offset maybe that can give us all an idea on what I'm looking at and what can be used. I'm only looking for a conservative drop, 1" in the front and nomore than .75 in the rear, ( If anyone knows how to accomplish that please feel free to let me in on the secret ) so with saying that I figure a 35 series tire will be in the making. I believe the Rims on the topic of discussion are three down, but also if you like, take a look at the Imagines aswell and give me an opinion on the comparison. I love the mesh look but I like the smooth look that the 5 spoke Imagines have to offer, either way they give a description of what offsets they offer so your IMOs are appreciated.

You could go with Z springs in the front and coupe springs in the rear. Most people say it gives you 1 in the front and .5 in the rear. I have revised Z shocks and springs and like the drop and the ride. I did not measure but this is supposed to give you 1 all the way around.

What year is your G and do you have the sport suspension?

If you go with bling, dubs or whatever the gangsta's (or in this case wigga's)call them these days, just airbag it and put spinners on them for the full effect. Don't want yo homies dissin ya the next time yo G azz gets crunk right off ya heard?

Maybe hydraulics fo critmas?

BUT SERIOUSLY.........that wheel in a 20 has to weigh 26 - 33 lbs if not more. Add that and a 20+ lb tire on all four corners and you won't be driving slow cause you want to look cool.............you'll have to!

dude 20s all the way. I will break it down for you

having 20s

Pros:
cheaper tires than 19s
looks better than 19s
wheels are sometimes cheaper than 19s too
replacements are more common
can find wider variety if searching for used wheels

Cons:
will slow down the car more than 19s
harsher ride than 19s but it is not even noticeable
20s will have less meat on tires so need to be more careful

having 19s:
Pros:
less rotational mass than 20s meaning bit less sluggish
very common to find them used on the forums since everyone has them on g35driver and my350z

Cons:
20s will look better than 19s
more tire meat
slightly more comfortable ride and road feel
tires will be more expensive
cost more than 20s in some cases

THERE YOU GO. i've had 20s and will always have 20s on my g35. anything less looks a little small if you get a bodykit. And on my car it looks esp. smaller cuz i have widebody.

My Sedan is a 06 with the premium package. I'm not sure if I have the Sport suspension or not, it's very tight when handling so I'm not sure. I'll send a pic and if you can tell please let me know. I'm at work right now so it won't be until later today.

I appreciate the info but believe me bags or draulics are not in my near or far future, be there done that and the maintenance that goes into that mod is eqivalent to digging a hole in the ground and throwing money into it. And I figured that rims that are chrome and shiney are considered bling. The rims I'm shooting for are black with a chrome lip.

I believe that if you have red shocks then you have the sport suspension. That is the way to tell with the 04. If you have sport suspension then you can run Z springs in the front (1" drop) and coupe springs in the rear (.5" drop). If you do not have the sport suspension then the shocks you have are not made for the spring rates of these springs and they will wear out quickly. I am not sure if anything changed in 06. There is a ton of information out there if you search the site. Don't take what I say as gospel, I don't know much about the 06 model.
