i just pumped gas today. i pumped 17 gallons of gas. i had 370 miles on the odometer. so im guessing i could get over 400 miles on a full tank.

just got back from an 1650 mile (round trip) venture from Phoenix, AZ to San Angelo, TX... I cruised at 70MPH from Phoenix to El Paso, TX (~425 miles) for my first fuel up, where I put ~15 gallons of gas into the car (from a topped off tank)... guess that averages to 28.3MPG... the rest of the way, and the way back, I averaged about the same...

I was really impressed!

EDIT: Forgot to mention this was with Premium/Super Unleaded (91 Octane), with average outside air temperature of ~105 degrees Fahrenheit between elevations of 1100 and 2600 feet

I just set the cruise control @ 70 with a few passes and such. I was impressed. But in my day to day driving I average 21ish.

Makes me laugh when I see all these TV commercials advertising garbage economy cars with around 150hp getting 31-34 mpg on the freeway. What a waste.
same thing happened to me a few years ago. i drove from vegas back to california. i filled up at the city limits of vegas and 400+ miles to the tank later, i filled up. i posted about it and got a bunch of haters saying that's a lie. the trip odometer is the only thing i used. i had no other test measurement equipment. just filled up, reset the trip odometer and away i went. right now in city driving in tampa i'm getting around 265-270 to the tank in the same method. this friday i'm about to start driving to california so i'm sure i'll be getting 400+ again on some legs of this trip. 6mt as well.

400 miles to the tank!!

for the nay sayers. i'm currently driving from florida to california. i'm in a small town between san antonio and el paso. i took pictures of this trip. this leg of fuel began yesterday, i filled up in a small town in louisiana, 7 miles from the texas state line (pic 1) and drove to san antonio. stayed the night there and continued driving the next day. i took the next pic at ~150 miles into it, then 300 and so forth until i refilled again. btw i had the ac on the whole time and my car is loaded with suitcases and stuff, i would say an extra 150 lbs or so.

the rest of pics

I had 407 miles at the end and when i filled up i put 15.8 gallons and my gas light was not even on, so i could have gone further, but the next town was a little far and i didn't want to take the chance. i'm sure the nay sayers will find a way to nit pick at this, but the bottom line is i got the mileage out of it. based on how long i drove and how much gas i put back in, that was about 25 miles average. not an accurate way to measure, but the best i can do. have fun driving.
