It should take you about 20 minutes to install. It's not hard at all.

Yep, not hard either. Took me 30 min. I found out when I did the install that you don't need to bend the ball joint nut at an angle to allow for clearance of the hood shock to interface with the hood. Just lift the hood up high enough and connect the hood shock together. Make sure the C-shaped lock clips are fully in place.

20 mins. I didn't have my dremel tool so I used a round file to make the opening on the battery covers where the strut anchor attaches to the fender. Very simple install and a great mod. Hood prop was getting in my way on a regular basis.

Bending the ball joint forward is not to allow for hood clearance, but to allow for proper alignment of ball joint.

If it is not done you may have the damper pop off the ball joint.

Install is very easy, I usually do it in 10-15 minutes.

Does anyone know about a revised version? If there is one then do I need the revised with the OEM hood or is the revised just to accommodate aftermarket hoods that weigh more/less?

Riverside has them for ~$100 and someone else has them for ~$150. I mentioned to this person that Riverside was selling them for 2/3 the price and was told that they had the old version, implying that I would want the newer, more expensive ones from them.

So guys, which ones should I order?

they have two types in two variations so a total of four from what I know (i'm a seller of their products), they have the standard silver one in the light hood or the stock hood setup, and then they have the carbon fiber in the light hood or stock hood setup... the carbon fiber being the more expensive one. They both perform exactly the same with the only difference being that you get it either in silver or carbon fiber. I say you should choose depending on what fits your car (color wise) since they both are quality products anyways from the same manufacturer!

I’m not sure of the difference (wasn’t aware there was a “revised”)… but whatever one Randy (caskyline) had – have been working great for me.

Yes there is a newer version that has been out for a few months. They have 2/3 of the pressure of the other ones, these will work on OEM hoods or Aftermarket hoods ( carbonfiber or fiberglass )
They come in a chrome finish or carbon fiber wrapped.

I only sell the newer version.

Hood Dampers....!

I'm currently using my third set of Hood Dampers, the first set broke due to
the alignment issues mentioned above. My second set squeaked so it was
embarrassing to lift my hood (Teins). This set works great without any issues
but I took my time using my Dremel tool and even painted the hood nuts so
you couldn't tell they'd ever been removed. (yea, I'm a detail freak!)
