GS430, not as fast as I thought...

Was at a red light with a GS 430 behind me. I saw him come across two lanes to get behind me (the shortest line) and caught a glimpse of his chrome wheels. I wasn't sure if he was "on" so although I accelerated aggressively on green, I was far from WOT. But now he kept close, right on me so I let my foot drop to the floor. The gap was about a car length, and my foot stayed on the floor... well the GS stayed at that car length for about a half second, then began reeling me in, but slowly. I let up when I hit about 70, and he had closed the gap to just 1/4 car length, so I figured it would have been another 4 to 5 seconds for him to actually pass me.

I knew the GS had more power but was heavier, so I always secretly hoped that the G-sedan could hold its own... guess the GS430 has just enough more....

Of couse its going to be fast at the top end since its a V8 but how much not much because of its weight. Good race non the less.

GS430 performance numbers I came up with

0-60 5.7 secs.; 1/4 mile 14.2 secs.

$50K+ base

Feel good about the G

Obsidian/Graphite; Premium Pkg; Aero Kit; Suspension Kit; Nav Sys; Sunroof; Clear side markers, K&N, Z tube. Next...GroundingGear
