Re: Would you do it again?

I'd get another G35 if my current one got totaled. I'd strongly consider the G35x in that situation.

Re: Would you do it again?

Believe me takuyaah, if there was anything else in this price range that I wanted I would have already dumped the G and moved on. The seats are the killer. All the other stuff has been annoyances that mean two 2hr. roundtrips to the nearest dealer to get them fixed but I can even live with that. I totally enjoy the way the car handles, the power, and even the 5 A/T MOST of the time. I have never had a problem with the interior either - it suits me just fine.

RX-8 = no low end grunt, very poor gas mileage, and Mazda service which has a poor reputation. 350Z=harsh ride, no rear seat, no storage space and higher insurance. BMW 3 = too expensive, sooo many on the road, and high maintainence once warranty is done. FWD Acura's are out for several reasons incl. wrong-wheel drive. IS300=undersized and underpowered etc.etc.etc.

As far as GDUP's comments go, no need for Atkins - my bodyfat runs 20% or less and that is well within range for my age. I am 5'11", 200 very solid lbs.(weightlifter), and wear 36" jeans. It has been documented ad naseum that some VERY large people like the seats just fine, and some small folks (145 - 150 lbs.) have the pain problem. The seat pain problem is not dependent upon bodysize or weight.

So no, unless or until the driver's seat is fixed or re-designed I would not buy a G35 again. And because of the way Infiniti has stonewalled on this problem, it is unlikely that I will buy ANY Infiniti again. It's a shame, because otherwise, my experiences with Infiniti Customer Service have been excellent.

Re: Would you do it again?

I would buy one again, except this time i'd get the premium package.
The reasons are
1) great value for the money (u can get a better car but not for the money, IMO).
2) equal parts form and function -- its a cool car that I can pimp in the city and turn around and take up to the mountains for snowboarding.

My other choice was the audi a4, it was excellent too but the price was a bit too steep for me.

Re: Would you do it again?

if mine was trashed and insurance gave me money to buy another, I'd probably buy a 2005 G35, if the interior is really that great, my brother got the TL and I really miss all the cool gadgets he's playing with not to mention the cool touches like the sliding center armrest and remotes that recognize who's going to be driving and make side view mirror and seat adjustments accordingly once you unlock the door.

IF Infiniti added all the gadets that the TL has, I don't see why anyone would buy a TL at all...

Re: Would you do it again?

Same here. I would in a heart beat buy the G35 again. I have 15K pleasurable miles on it and have no problem ever. The car corners like it's on velcrow and accellerates so well. I think the 2005 will even be better. I still love the look at it every time I walk out the door to meet it :^)

The new M45 will be a strong consideration for a change if I have enough change to buy.. haha.

NO REGRETS AT ALL!!!

Re: Would you do it again?

If I were to do it again, it would be the G35X. Still with Navi, no sports suspension.

Didn't need the X last winter, but for peace of mind, yes.

I would have had to wait an additional 3 months last year, and probably paid closer to MSRP, if I had waited.

Re: Would you do it again?

Most likely, unless something nicer, faster and cheaper comes along. I know one thing though: I will never go back to a front wheel drive car as long as I can help it.

if i had to do it again, i'd definitely still be g35girl... but perhaps g35Xgirl would be more accurate.

Re: Would you do it again?

The G35 still has bugs in it and the customer service at dealerships suck (esp. Cerritos). The dealerships seem to have the same line when you bring something up even when it's listed on their website as a TSB. They've definitely practiced the phrase, "That's first I've heard of that happening." I think that's part of their customer service training. So, all in all, I would say, "No I wouldn't do it again." I've had an Acura and I think they have a better customer service record and probably a less troublesome car (i.e. TL).

Re: Would you do it again?

That depends on the dealer, I have heard bad things about the Acura dealer here! And...as far as the "that's the first time.." line, Ford has always used that, always, I think they all learn that in "service school"!

Re: Would you do it again?

Infiniti was rated #1 for customer service last year... but yeah, some dealerships SUCK. When you pay in the $30k range for a car, you expect a little better service, so it's more glaringly obvious when they try to take you.

I've had the best customer service at my dealership in Indy... from giving me the dealership owner's car when they were out of loaners, to throwing in a free set of 20"s for our FX, they've been great. The key, I believe, was find a sales guy that the service department really likes- he's my liaison for anything I need done, and all I have to do is drop my keys off.

Re: Would you do it again?

I was thinking about this recently, and i really do love my car. The only other car i would consider replacing mine with would be a new TL just becuase of all the creature comforts. Than i accelerate out of a turn with a huge smile on my face and realize i made the right choice.

Re: Would you do it again?

Would buy again with same color and options though would put in some additional sound insulation. The M45 is tempting but a G45 would be even better !!!
