anyone have a richie strut bar
^makes sense to me. Try a a wrench instead of the screw driver and you get more torque with less effort.....unless of course your screw driver is more like a pry bar...lol
You guys shouldn't have to be modifying these things. The manufacturer should be made aware that they have a QC problem with the bars. If no one tells them, they won't fix the problem. The thing I'd be really worried about is that someone who's not really mechanically inclined would install an ill-fitting bar and then close the hood like normal and put a nice crease to in the hood. The manufacturer would blame the installer even though they would be partly to blame.

and i was thinkin about makin the mounting holes a little ovel so that it would spread the mounting a little back and that would lower it a little cuz it was also a little hard to put on i had to get a big azz wrench to push the bar so i can get the screw in its place if that makes any sence

In the case of the accident G I came across, the distance between strut tower was different than the typical G...forgot how many cm differences there was.
i have a 07 coupe, and i also had to take off the hood liner, the hood will close fine, when i push down on the hood you can hear the tap of the space between the strut bar and the hood but at one point there is no tap. and its just rock solid as if its touching with no gap clearance, is this ok?
