I got the Kaaz LSD today!!

I just got the Kaaz LSD today. I had it installed at the Kaaz dealer here in So Cal. Ray there is great and really knows his product. Right now we have it set to 60% which will take some getting use to. I will take the Ortega Hwy home today to try it out. The Kaaz is much better than the open differential. I have also driven the sedan with the OEM VLSD and the Kaaz is much stronger and hooks up much better.

Installed with the breakin and new oil after the break in was $1600.00 OTD. The NISMO unit is cheaper but no where near the quality of the Kaaz.

Congratulations!

What type of LSD is the Kaaz? Where is the dealer located?

I believe it's a clutch-type.

Re: I got the Kaaz LSD today!!

Ryoken is right. The Kaaz is clutch type of LSD. It is set now at 60% lock. The drifting crowd like this unit alot as it is very adjustable. It has proven to be much stronger than the NISMO clutch type LSD as well. The Kaaz has 24 clutch disc where the NISMO has only 12 disc. The more disc the more adjustability and strength you have, so they say.

At 60% slip the tires chirp at slow parking lot manuvers. One wheel trying to keep up to the other wheel as you turn. It's not to annoying. Man let me tell you though the car has never felt so hooked up. The VDC must be turned off at all times (I never had the VDC on anyways). You have to manually turn it off when you get into the car. At speed and in a straight line you can't even tell you have LSD. The Kaaz 2 way LSD also will assist in braking. You can really feel it in coming into tigt corners. The car feels great in those nice long sweepers as you enter the freeway. I can't wait to use it at the next Solo II event.

Re: I got the Kaaz LSD today!!

Great news! I'm glad to hear the install went well. My only difference of opinion is the part about not being able to tell a difference in a straight line. I know what you meant, but I'd point out that from a launch (technically a straight line) the LSD makes a huge difference--at least that has been my experience with the Nismo LSD.

At the drag strip that sucker just hooks up both wheels and blam! I wish I had some before-and-after video to show everyone. With the stock VLSD (04 6mt sedan) only one wheel would spin at first and the lack of power was evident. With the Nismo, I was able to launch @ up to 5000 rpms with very little wheel spin. It could be part experience--but I'm crediting a lot of it to the LSD.
