Hello, everybody!

Can anyone explain benefits of grounding kits please? Right now I think there are none.

Thanks.

Put on your reading glasses, pour yourself a nice cup of coffee, sit in a comfy chair, and read this thread

Re: Grounding kit
Thanks for the replies. GeoBau, that thread is quite long :-).

However, I could not find an explanation WHY extra grounding could provide more horsepower. All the explanations in the thread that GeoBau referred to did not seem legitimate enough.

I am still not convinced yet.

Oh boy. Here we go again. I hope everyone just respects your opinion and leave it at that. Otherwise, get ready for the flaming!!!

Re: Grounding kit
Okay, I talked to a few senior mechanics I know and an engineer and they all said that grounding kits are purely for people's minds. You won't get extra power or a smoother engine just by adding cables, all you get is the bling and extra weight.

Re: Grounding kit
I agree just based on what I know.

Perhaps on an old car with oxidized grounds, but on a brand new car I just don't know. It's more placebo then anything to me.

One thing I have noticed is people with other cars who install MSD Ignitions, larger fuel pumps, larger injectors, bigger distributors, etc, don't seem to find the necessity to modify the grounds. These are components that directly relate to power and ground and directly relate to horsepower.

I would think if they are fine with stock grounds then near stock cars like ours should be fine.

I've never tried them so I don't know how I'd comment after real experience. I did notice my car idle smoother after installing the Stillen CAB.
