just got an 05 and warranty expires oct 1st
Is there anything i should target looking at right now?
I just got an 05x with navi, they told me warranty is done on oct 1st, anything i should seriously look into right now. i'm reading thru all TSB's right now, i'm at 37k

That's funny. I have an '04 and my warranty expires in Jan.
Anyway,
1) If your fuel gauge isn't representing fuel levels correctly, that's one to have done.
2) Little rubber grommets under center console cover
3) Squeaks or noises (i.e sway rod end links, compression rods, etc.)
Those are things I've had taken care of recently.

as far as i know oct 1 2008, that means this was one of the first batches of 05 models.
i have a rear rattle, most likely i'll be taking it back to the dealership for that.
I want to look into the spark plug gasket, as for the fuel gauge isn't that hard to notice in a short amount of time. my navi states 44 miles till E and its about right since its almost E, i'm going to put a full tank and see how it goes. car was average 16.4 before me.
Little rubber grommets under center console cover <~~~ wtf are these and what do they do....

thanks for the tips, any idea about the rear rattle, sounds like the deck is rubbing against the leather or some form of it. Its really nothing because its not a constant noise, just pending on what type of bumps and how i go over it. happens more often when turning over a bump, so i'm thinking it might be the leather squeek.
If it's easily replicable, then just take it down there and let them figure it out. My experience has been that these squeaks or rattles are typically replicable when doing things like a hard swerve left/right, going over a speed bump (angle of approach might influence the noise), or hitting a rough section of road. If you can figure out the method that makes the noise consistently repeatable, then just take it in and they should be able to pinpoint the source.
I had a consistent squeak from the rear (not so much a rattle) that came from the sway bar end links. Would happen everytime I swerved abruptly left and/or when going over speed bumps.

Warranty
I'm surprised that the warranty will expire on Oct 1st 2008 unless it is some kind of rebuild vehicle or modified vehicle where the Manufacturer's warranty goes void.
Our cars have a warranty of 5years/60000 miles warranty. Since you just have 37K, miles shouldn't be a problem.
First 2005 came out in Jun - July 2004 and the even if this car is the first g35 sold warranty should be till June 2009. I would suggest you to check this with a local Infiniti dealership.
Correct me if I'm wrong

In regards to getting stuff done under warranty, i would get the rear window bolts taken care of it you havent yet. When the rear windows are all the way up, they will make an annoying creaking noise when accelerating or going over bumps.
Also get new compression rods too if you have a front end creaking noise going over bumps at low speeds.
All these are TSBs and can be found if you search, just print them out and show them to the dealer.

i used my 2 downloads at infinitihelp for...
the rear window creak because I KNOW its there both sides, and well i didn't here anything in the front but i printed that out as well.
i'm setup at 6:30AM in the morning.
do i just say i hear a front end noise over bumps and ask if i can get the TSB done?
I know that i hear the rear windows creak but i also hear a loud squeek happens at lower speeds, like coming off a ramp in the parking garage, when it happens it happens twice or three times.
do you guys think the remote battery is covered under warranty?
about my car being out of warranty VERY soon, its 4 years/ 60k, i'm way under miles thats for sure but car was bought on Oct 1, 2004 which is a earlier batch of the car, fully loaded with woody, could of been custom ordered at the launch and finally delivered then. something like that.

LOL i wouldnt count on the remote battery to be replaced but its worth a shot since you are already there. Its a $3.99 battery that takes 30 seconds to replace anyway.

Since i didn't have anything to go with for the compression rod bushing TSB i didn't want to go with it.
They did replace the bolts on both rear regulators, they took care of my rear squeek which was something about the rear seat being loose. They gave me a BRAND new smart key, they stated it was internal shorted. They threw in free oil change and air filter which was really nice. I got to roll around in a M35x all day.

Can someone help me out? I have no clue how warrantys work. I just bought an 05x with about $10K miles on it. So far no issues except that I can't fill the tank all the way up. I have read about this on the forum but am not sure it is a warranty issue or not. Plus, I don't know enough about warrantys to know whether they carry over from one owner to the next. The guy I bought the car from was selling it for a deceased relative so he had no knowledge of any kind of warranty transfer. I guess what I am asking is whether it is likely that I have a warranty on my car even though I didn't buy it new?
