Anyone know howto takeoff SILVER strp on shiftknob

I posted on FA but I figure I should post here also. I need a quick answer by Wednesday before I take it into service. I have an annoying creak coming from the plastic silver strip located on the shift ****. I wonder if anybody else has this. I guess after usage it has some come a little loose that whenever i grab it it makes a creaking sound which is very annoying. Please tell me if there is a fix OR IF ANYBODY KNOWS HOW TO TAKE THAT STRIP OFF as I want to put super glue or something on it.

Your dealership should be able to take care of that for you
under warranty.

man you must have a sensetive ear. The only reason I would take it off is because it burns the shift pattern into you palms on hot days.

I have a 5AT and I want to take it off to silence the rather annoying and audible noise by way of superglueing the whole thing down or padding it. everytime i reach to change from park to drive and vice versa there's a noise.
