Ashtray removal

Hey everyone, I was wondering if theres some easy way to remove the ashtray/cigarette lighter tray that pivots forward and back....

While using my cigarette lighter to power a pump and pump up a bike tire, the damn cigarette lighter popped out when i removed the adapter. The wires were stuck down in there, managed to fish them out, but i still cant close the tray... I suspect a coin is down inside and preventing it from being closed...

Is there an easy way to pop this out without taking apart the console where 5AT shifter is, etc?

Thanks

If you can't get it by just removing the ash tray part (the part you dump), you will have to remove that entire part of the console.

I have done it. It is not hard at all. Check on the videos and use the instructions on changing the radio to see how to go about it. If i were to do it again i will also have to look but i remember it not being hard.

Ash tray

mine didnt shut for 3 months then finally one day, I kept flicking it back and forth, I thought there was a dime or nickel stuck back there, after about a minute or two the thing closed, Keep in mind I was hitting pretty violently, but it work and never had a problem since.

tried that but there isnt enough radius of a penny to get it to lift up on one side.. i even think a paper clip is too thick to fit between the penny and wall.

Hopefully you can fix it. Little things like that being open or my cup holder being open drive me nuts. I like the dash to be closed up and look clean.

Simple. Use a piece of tape to get it out.
