Anyone ever hear an exterior whistling sound?
My car is a 2005 G35X. When I'm travelling 45+MPH i hear a whistling sound. It is high pitched and I'm sure it's not mechanically related. It must be the air passing between two surfaces that is causing it. I cannot determine where it's coming from. If the sunroof is open it sounds like it's coming from that. If a window is open, then it sounds like it's coming from near whichever window is open. The only exterior add-on is a spoiler from spoiler depot. The noise does not sound like it's coming from the rear of the vehicle. I've had the car since new and the noise has been there since the beginning. When the windows and sunroof are closed the noise is barely heard. Anyone have any ideas?
Get some blue painters dape that peels off cleanly and use it to cover different areas a few at a time. Eventually you'll narrow it and find the culprit so you don't have to keep replacing things that don't fix the problem.
yeah, its coming from the rear passanger side window seal. it doesn't completely seal up or something. If you had someone push up on the seal while you were driving the noise will disappear. *assuming it really is coming from the rear passenger side. mine does that and my friend did the same thing. It doesn't really bother me anymore bc i drive with the volume up. but it does annoy me and my passengers when they're in the car.
I noticed a whistling sound only when I first drive my car in the morning. Sounds like it's coming from the passenger door area and stops after about two minutes of driving...WEIRD
