Re: G35 vs ....
The new TL engine is an over worked 2003 TL Type-S engine with low torque that has been a signature of Honda engines just like the S2000. Technically similar G35 and TL's should have very close performance in stright but that's were the similarity ends! Try some curvy roads in a TL and you will be greeted with constant oversteers and understeers as the poor Stablity Assist computer tries to keep your butt in line :-)
It kind of bothers me that for the price you pay you're really getting a car every where else in the world called the Accord!
At least the G35 is a rebadged Skyline which has always been a decent sports car.
Oh well, as far as performance goes the G is way above the TL.

Gmaster makes great points on all accounts.
Many of you guys have it in your head that a "Cobra" is some unbeatable machine. Here's a little late model Cobra history for you. Keep in mind that all the ET/MPH a typical average at sea level in good conditions and sub 2.2 60 foots. There will always be those that go a little quicker or slower than the norm:
93 Cobra (old boxy body style), 5.0 pushord V8, 240hp, 14.4s@98mph in the hands of average drivers, low 14s@100mph with a good driver.
94-95 Cobra (more rounded body style), 5.0 pushord V8, 240hp, 14.6s@95mph in the hands of average drivers, 14.4s@97mph with a good driver.
96-98 Cobra, 4.6 DOHC V8, 305hp, low 14s@100mph in the hands of average drivers, 13.8s@102mph with a good driver.
99&01 Cobra, 4.6 DOHC V8, 320hp, 13.9s@102mph in the hands of average drivers, 13.6s@104mph with a good driver.
03+ Cobra, SC 4.6 DOHC V8, underrated 390hp, 13.0s in the hands of average drivers, 12.7s with a good driver.
As you can see, a Cobra is not unbeatable and some models are within the capabilities of a G35. Street racing is a joke and reaction times mean everything. Simply outreacting your opponent by a mere .5 second results in your 14.6 second car being able to outrun a 14.1 second car.
After 6 years of racing at the track I've realized that only about 20% of the owners out there know how to race their car. I don't know how many Z06s, LS1s, LT1s, Cobras, WRXs, etc, etc, etc I've seen running horrible times because the driver was clueless on launching and shifting. I've lost count on how many LT1 F-Bodies, 5.0 Fox-body, and 99+ Mustang GTs I've beaten at the track. Put me in those cars and chances are that wouldn't be happening. A win is a win, though.

Re: G35 vs ....
those number are about right..
but how many 5.0 pushrod stangs are left stock? I dont think there is any
Their mod potential is just unbeatable..
but then again.. G35 and Cobra is totally different car and I'd still get G35 over Cobra unless its either 5.0 or +03
