Saw Car and Driver TV today where they compared the BMW 3 series to 9 other vehicles in the same class. They were essentially trying to find a stick-shift 4 door sport sedan that is better than the BMW 3xx. - I apologize if this is old news, it was on SPIKE so it could have been quite old.

It was good to see the BMW come 2nd of 10 only to the G35 Sedan

I Tivo'd it but for some reason my wife seems uninterested in watching it over and over like I do

Other cars on the list were:

BMW 325i
Audi A4 3L quattro
Saab 93
Jaguar X-type 3.0 (came last)
Acura TL (third, I believe)
Lexus IS300

they should compare it to the 330i

Performance wise, it'd be more fair to compare the 330 and the G35, but price wise, you'd have to compare the 330 to a G35 and a large bag of cash.

 

They couldn't because they wanted to compare cars that were in the 30k range. A fully loaded 330 would have put it out of range and with the formula they use to calculate ratings, the 330 probably would have been 3rd to the TL.

 

It was cars int he $35k range - almost all the cars were $35k give or take $2k.

sweet..but this is old news..but thanks cause i couldn't find the article online...

I wanna see someone take the g on the track..tat knows how to drive...and really test the g..I wonder how it would do..
