THANK YOU MEMBERS plus TPS question
i would just like to take this chance to thank the members of this forum for answering most of my questions or pointing me in the right direction. my G35 purchasing experience couldnt have went as smooth as it did without the help of this forum. conversly, it was my pleasure to help out new members and answer their PMs.
i could not be happier with my purchase of a black 6MT G35 sedan with black leather interior. i must say, this car has guts and is dangerously fast. almost done the break in period and the 6MT shifting gets smoother everyday i drive it. i love the sound of the engine after 3500 rpms. 1-2 shift will still need some time. as for music, i have been using the iPod + iTrip solution so far. havent even used the cd changer yet. im quite happy with the sound so far. the key is to put the iPod equailizer on "bass reducer" and the distortion virtually disappears.
one final thing. i had a strange phenomenon occur the last 2 days in a row. it was EXTREMELY rainy and the roads on the 401 are in crappy shape. my ( ! ) tire pressure monitor when off when i was travelling at around 120 kph for an hour. i didnt actually notice the warning light til i got home. i never beeped for 10 seconds as it states in the manual (unless i didnt hear it). anyways it disappeared after i turned the engine off and on again. the next day it rained real hard again and again i was on the highway and i kept my eye on the gauge. at the same speed and after i went over some terrible bumps in the road the warning light went on again. i checked my pressure after and they read between 47.5 - 49.5 psi. i waited till the morning to check it again and it was the same. ~48psi each. i thought for the sedan it was supposed to be 30psi (44 max as it says on the turanza tires). this was the way i got it from the dealer! is this dangerously high??? i was thinking to put them around 33 psi. any suggestions guys and gals. please reply soon...
thanks

Re: THANK YOU MEMBERS plus TPS question
You'll definately want to run lower than the 44psi max on the tire's sidewall. You should get a much, much smoother ride out of it, too. I run somewhere around 32-35 for daily use, and 40 for autocross days (the higher pressure keeps the tires from rolling under with heavy cornering, but is too harsh of a ride for street use). You can run as low as 30 if you want, but I'd run it a little higher, myself.
I have an '03.5, and don't have a TPS on my car, so I can't comment on the quirks of that system.
