Question Intellligent key problem

Hi, guys. I've been having this problem for more than a week now, the green 'key' symbol keeps flashing almost every time I start my car and goes off after the car moves. Since it's green, I assume nothing bad is going on.

so does it mean it's running out of battery or wha?

PS: I have another smart key which is for my partner's March, is it ok to put them together? Thanks

Had the same problem a month ago. All it is is the battery is going dead. Pry your intelligent key open and replace the battery. You can do this by removing the actual key from the intelligent key. At the bottom where the actual key goes is a little slot use a little flat head screw driver so something that can fit to pry the two halves apart. The battery is CR2025 flat round wrist watch type battery. Hope this helps.

Cheers man. That's exactly what I need to know
They should have used red or yellow instead of green or something meaningful. Bad interface design

When the battery is good the key light will be red like the rest of you indicator lights when you turn the ignition but goes out wonce the car has started. When the battery is going dead the key light will be green and will blink for 30 seconds then turn off. The green light will catch your eye cause its differnt from the rest so you will pay more atetion to it. Ant this how you cought the problem.

I have the same problem right now which is why I'm going to get a new battery soon and replace the old one. There's a part in the "do it yourself" section of the handbook that explains on how to replace the battery for your key.

I know this is a late reply, but just thought I'd share anyway

Thanks for the comments everyone. I found this post useful also.
Here is what it says in the manual:

The Intelligent Key continually consumes
battery power as the key receives
a signal to communicate with
the vehicle. Battery life is about 2
years, although it varies depending on
the operating conditions. When the
battery of the Intelligent Key is low,
the green blinking key warning light
goes out about 30 seconds after the ignition
switch is turned to the ON position.
If the battery runs down, replace
it with a new one.

The DIY is further along in the manual. I'll be doing it at some point this weekend.

Cheers again to everyone on this board for sharing their info.

A luttle off topic but how many keys originally came with the G35s? Like I bought mine used and all I have is the key and a remote with lock, unlock, trunk and alarm: is there supposed to be more? I was wondering because cant you roll all the windows down with the remote? I just didnt see how when it has no button for it. hope this makes sense and not trying to thread jack.

On my 05 you press unlock once and then press and hold it and the windows go down.

You should get 2 keys and 2 remotes minimum with any new car.

However, in addition, i got a Valet key, and a credit card key along with the 2 I-keys for my '06.

You can also roll the windows down and up with the key in the door. Stick the key in the door and turn it to the rear of the car and hold it and the windows go down. Turn it to the front and hold it and they go up.

And if you insert the key in the lock and turn it to the left, you can make the windows go backup. I'm not sure about the sunroof since I don't have one.
