Was the TL 6MT or auto?

 

I heard you guys (and gals) had a good time in Vegas. Did you chat with the TL driver for details of tranny?

Chat?.. I wouldn't say we chatted... but we did exchange a bit of sign language. It was an Auto I'm sure and he didn't come off as a nice person to me. At first he was toying with us 5 as we were cruising out to VeGas. 4 Coupes and I (The lone Sedan). Than after a few miles of that he decided he was gonna be stupid. He cut in front of us and jumped over in front of a semi in the slow lane, where he was forced to slow behind a Harley. As we 5 passed up the semi he decided he wasn't gonna let us catch up to him and proceeded to try and pass the Harley by way of the right shoulder. For some unknown idiotic reason he swerved back into the lane where the Harley was and nearly broadsided him as well as almost forcing the Harley into the car next to him in the fast lane. Seen this set me off and I immediately went after 'em. The dude on the Harley must have thought I was with the TL and tried to block me out at 100mph... with the respect I have for all bikers alike I kept my distance and eventually he let me pass. Upon passing the Harley I let him know I was cool and I was gonna take care of the TL for him. I raced to catch the TL hitting 145-150 and caught him in no time. I pulled along side the TL and gestured, asking if he was stupid, flipped him off and cut in front of him as well. He immediately backed down and kept at a 70mph pace for a few miles. after passing Baker he was a good distance behind me and being the road was clear, he decided to try and take a run at me, starting about a quarter to half mile back. I'm cruising along at about 80mph when I see him rapidly approaching. As he gets up side me I drop it into 4th and take on his challenge. By the time I shift to 5th 105+ I'm pulling on him. I take it to 120 and let off. He goes blowing by me. He pulls in front of me and I just hug his tail. I see the passenger reaching for something and I knew what was about to happen. Just as I thought the passenger tosses change out the sunroof, but I'm so close to their tail at around 120-130mph the coins miss my car completely. I decide at this point it's not worth it anymore and just let the bastards go. As I like to say there's a fine line between Krazy and stupid. I have to admit I have crossed that line, but I have calmed down enough to acknowledge the difference.

Thanx for the compliment on the truck... I miss that thing. Funny thing is I think I'd miss the G more. So I guess I don't miss it much. But there's nothing like flying down the road and laying it out throwing sparks everywhere, then "railing" a 360 in the middle of the Boulevard. Hell yeah!.. Those were the days.

Sounds like a bad meet-up with that clown. I think he'd give anything he drove a bad name. There's some real A-holes on the road isn't there?

After having driven an auto 04 TL I can tell you that its no quicker than my 02 Maxima. Nice car but lacking performance with the auto tranny. I'm certain its a very different story with the 6MT.

Anyway, it sounds like that TL driver (& passenger) were a bit psycho. $.02

The gearing SUCKS on the AT TL..Tall 4th..My wife drives a 04 TL and the thing has no go after ~ 105. That's why the story above suprises me, you should of spanked silly him unless it was a MT TL ???
