Red/Pink hue to your HIDs?

I figure I'd post this in the sedan forum, since they have been out longer than the coupes. I understand that when the OEM HIDs age they begin to give off a red/pink hue. Well... mine have begun to do that . You can't see it head on, but when I pull up in front of my white garage door, its noticeable. I don't get it. I never keep my lights in AUTO mode, so they aren't cycling on and off whenever i go through and underpass. My coupe is about 1.5 years old. Any old sedan owners have this phenomenon at such an early stage?

not I...but I turned off the AUTO a long time back because you are not supposed to cycle on/off Xenons repeatedly. it shortens their lifespan.

Cheers, ted

They're just colorshifting, puff. There really is nothing you can do about it. Some of the older Acura TL's have a very pink color to them. The only thing you can do is switch them out for new ones. I just switched my stockers for 6000K ultinons. PM me if you're interested in my old (3 months) bulbs.

Nah... I'm going to wait for these to die and go with the 6000k bulbs myself. But I'm sure these will last over a year still. Just found it odd they would shift color so soon, without me cycling them on and off all the time.

the bulbs I took out of my coupe were the ones philips rates as 5000K color match bulbs. I don't know if your's are the same. I was surprised at this because they are so yellow. It's probably the housing that's partly responsible.

BTW, you'll love the ultinons.
