Suspension knock
I have a bit of a knock in my front suspension that I can't locate the source of. I'm thinking it could be a problem with the shock. Have you ever run into Tokico or any other shocks developing a knock? If, when driving, I turn left then right, it knocks, as the right suspension decompresses after compressing. If I lift the car by the right fender by hand with it on the ground it makes the noise at the top of the movement upon recompression, but with the wheel off I can't recreate it. With the lower arm on a jack it won't do it, only when on the wheel. Initially it was a sharper knock, now its getting duller and less noticeable but it is not going away. I've been living with it a couple thousand miles now.
Listening really closely and having someone rock the car to make it knock it has been impossible to discern where the sound is coming from, other than from the right front suspension. I've closely inspected all components and attachments, shock mounts, spring seating (which I readjusted a couple times), control arms, and ball joints, as well as the strut brace and an engine dampener located nearby. The sway bar links are also tight and solid, and there is no problem with the sway bar bushes.
Any ideas?

Good idea, I used to have one around too... Too bad I don't know where it is. I've also used a long screwdriver putting the handle against my ear and the tip against whatever, sounds kind of crazy but it works too. The trouble is still to get assistance lifting as well as accessing the trouble area, since I can't take the wheel off. I kind of need a lift and an acrobatic assistant.

Now, many may criticize the decision to use Wal-Mart, but, properly trained (and most are open to it) techs will do wonders for you and wash/vacuum the car as it's leaving. In return, Wal-Mart gets lots of my business in other ways. If they spot an issue, I take the car to my mechanic, whom charges 30-40% less than the stealership. On your point, consider this as a long term solution for future issues you don't want to spend too much on. For now, it looks like a trip to the mechanic is in order!
knock as some may hear it coming from the suspension as i also thought and the guy the works on my car thought also the suspension... well it wasnt. te problem were bad endlinks. dealer fixed the problem.
I have the same problem and found it was the endlinks. So buy yourself some aftermarket endlinks or 'beefier' 05-06 endlinks.
