That is why Turtle* bought one and is going to sell us copies for $50. You can get one of those and it will be just as good.

I have the address book in my 6.6, but it is in the settings->Navigation options->edit address book to add. Then when you do Dest it gives you an option for it. Not sure if it was in a different place before or not.

The "birdview" feature?

I don't like it. For a while i ran it spilt between top down view on one side and birdview on the other side.

Now i just have it looking top down like traditional GPS.

Maybe i'll give birdview another try

You can split the screen? I am sad, I don't think you can do that in the 05 setup.

never attempted split screen. however, my only problem with the navigation is the "enter" button, I usually have to press it 3 or 4 times in order get the correct selection.

as anyone else encountered similar experiences?

Yes you can split it on the '06.

One side will be the 3 dimensional view, and the other side will be top down view.

Even shows buildings and planes if you are near a major city and airport like i am.

There were a few other split screen options. One i think showed you your current position and the other would let you scout ahead and zoom in on streets and other areas.

I've only messed with it for 3 weeks so far though. I almost decided i didn't want a car with NAV, but now i'm glad i held out for one. I enjoy using it to find new places to go eat and such.

Yes, when entering a street address.

I'll hit enter and it will move left or right.

Also, sometimes it takes 5 seconds for the next screen to load (it is DVD-based) so if i hit enter on a town or street name when it autogenerates, it delays 5-7 seconds. Maybe it's doing that when you hit enter a few times??

I got the notice for $190 shipped as well. I was gonna offer the service but talked with turtle and he's gonna do it. The 6.7 will still look the same as before just the new roads/POI/construction will be added. It doesn't change the interface, operations, nor does it change the apperance.

PLayboy: When you update, your settings default. The address book should still be there, just have to mess with the settings to display it. Sometimes not enough information is available to calculate a route. Especially if you're in a new or rural area.

Our nav system + software is a bit inferior to the newer ones, but there is nothing we can do short of buying a new car.

the new interface (7.xx) is WAY better. It's really a shame our nav unit will not be able to read it.

Isn't that interface in the 06 sedan and 06-07 coupe only? (aside from other car models)

Kinda curious now what the older setup is like.
