Need Tires Advice Asap

I need to purchase 4 new tires for my '05 G35 Sedan. I was told it has to be atlease "V" rated. Here's what I came up with. Please give your opinions asap, because I have to buy them this week. (1)GoodYear ResponsEdge ($650) (2)GoodYear Eagle GT. . . ($580)...If you have other brands in mind, please let me know so I could do a quick research. Thanks

GoodYear ResponsEdge are good. They have stiff sidewalls, which give quicker steering response. Also makes the ride a bit harsher; you feel more of the road.

What about during wet conditions? Light icy road/rainy weather. What would be better then?

Well what do you need?

If you get a summer performance tire, they will be dangerous in cold/icey weather.

All season tires aren't really great for snow but they are managable and better in cold weather.

I had Yokahama AVID W4S's on my last car and they were pretty good although still not a snow tire. They are a LOT better tan the crappy goodyear eagle RS-A's on there now.

I want very nice wet and dry performance. I'm not a crazy driver, but sometimes temptation overpowers ... I need a tire to last at least 30k and five good performance and very good handling. I was told that Bridgestone Turanza Serenity or the Eagle GT or ResponsEdge are pretty good. Plus I can get ResponsEdge or Assurance TripleTred for $650 and Eagle GT for $600. But Bridgestones are kinda pricy at $780. ;

DO you need an all-season tire? Or do you live in a place where you won't get cold weather?

Not to steal your thread but can someone recommend the best winter tires for my 2004 G35x and the best summer ones as well. I've also heard all season tires are really not great for either winter or summer so i'm thinking i'm gonna work with 2 sets at all times..winter ones and summer ones.

I live in New England so we get some icy roads and alot of snow.

Thanks

I'm putting a set of Blizzak WS-60's on my X very shortly.

The goodyear Eagle RS-A's on it now are terrible in the snow. Gonna take em off, sell them and put the Blizzaks on.

Come spring time, i'll be looking for a set of 18" sport or 19" coupe wheels.

I just installed the Yokahama and like them so far. Also these tires got a good rating by consumer report.

You can read about 10-15 conflicting opinions here or go to TireRack.com and get the opinions of 1000's plus TireRacks own track results and experiences. They typically run most tires on BMW's and/or Mustangs, thru wet, dry, icey, etc. conditions using semi-standardized testing. They also get reviews and ratings from 1000's of people who've used the brands you're looking at. Consumer Reports also does their own ratings. Good luck!

I liked them too. Pretty good performance, and great in the wet and cold weather.

I never got to try them in icy conditions. I actually had them on a Mustang. I lost a little bit of traction in terms of launching hard, but it's a Mustang..it's gonna spin tires.

If i was going to put all-seasons on my X, i would put the W4S's on. They were very quiet and rode very comfortably.

But i think i'm going to go with a pure winter tire and summer wheel setup
